This is where I put general video game stuff.
List of games I like:Ok let's set some very basic rules
Ok lets-a-go
A few months back, October I think, I was desperate for a new video game series to try, and I remember hearing about Shantae a lot because people wanted her to be in Smash, so I figured I'd try one of her games to see what all the fuss was about, and I loved it. The games themselves are fun as hell, and Shantae as a character is great too. She's a perfect mix of cute and cool. She's only on the 10th spot because of how recent my love for the series is, but that'll change soon because Shantae 5 comes out this year!
Arguably the most iconic and recognisable video game villain of all time, Bowser is a really cool character. He looks awesome and I like how over the years he's gained more and more of a personality, the best example being Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story in my opinion.
I've loved the FNAF series ever since the day the first game come out, and although FNAF 4 might be rather flawed, I absolutely love Nightmare Freddy's design. It may not be very scary, but I think he looks pretty cool and the concept of having little mini versions of himself as minions is interesting, I just wish this idea was executed a bit better, because Nightmare Freddy barely appears in-game, only in Jumpscares.
Back when Undertale first came out I didn't think much of it, but about a month later I looked into the game more and loved it. The character that stood out to me the most was Omega Flowey. He looked so bizarre and creepy and I love how he had a completely different art style for his fight, it's a nice contrast to the usual pixel art sprites. Although my love for Undertale has kinda died off, I still love Omega Flowey.
Cuphead is an absolutely fantastic game, with its great art style and memorable bosses, and I think Beppi is a great example of this. Beppi is a very wacky and expressive character, and I like the whole clown theme he has going on, which is odd because before characters like Blacephalon and Beppi were around I didn't like clowns in the slightest, I found them really weird and creepy. Beppi's fight is pretty fun too, it never really feels TOO unfair, besides maybe that damn green donkey/horse.
Dedede that's the name you should know, Dedede he's king of the show! King Dedede is so full of personality, and he has a pretty high meme status too, which is great. There's just something so enjoyable and hilarious about him, especially in the Kirby anime. I also like how he went from being an antagonist to a protagonist, it's nice character development. In the modern games when you fight him he's not really evil, but instead usually under the control of an evil entity such as when he was corrupted by the Jamba Hearts in Kirby Star Allies or when he was controlled by Taranza in Kirby Triple Deluxe.
Ever since he was revealed during the August Smash Direct, he's been one of my favourites. He's very expressive and full of personality and manages to be the perfect mix of badass and goofy. He's also absolutely hilarious in the Donkey Kong Country TV Show, he does things like rap about dropping Diddy Kong off a damn cliff, it's great.
Although I really could care less about Yo-Kai Watch these days, Slimamander has always consistently been one of my favorite video game characters. He looks so unique and the whole “eye in mouth” concept is interesting and different, he was even a major inspiration for some of my characters. He's even getting a new form in Yo-Kai Watch 4 which looks much more intimidating and badass, so that's cool, but I'll still always prefer the OG version.
The masked swordsman, Meta Knight, is my pick for second-favorite. I've loved him ever since I got to play Kirby's Return to Dreamland at my nieces house about 6 years ago. He's such a badass and unique character, and not only is his design great but he's definitely not lacking in the personality department either. He may seem edgy at first, but he's actually pretty heroic and helps Kirby on a lot of his adventures. Kirby Planet Robobot was the first Kirby game I properly played, and in the post-game he has his own bonus mode where you get to replay the game as him. His battle themes such as Meta Knight's Revenge are also amazing, especially the Brawl remix.
A surprise to absolutely no-one, Ridley is my all-time favorite video game character. I've known about Ridley for a while now but my love for him as a character truly began during the E3 Smash Ultimate presentation, where he was finally revealed to be a fighter for the first time. He looks so badass and intimidating, which contrasts a lot with most other video game characters in Smash, which makes him stand out a ton. I also love how not only is he menacing and brutal, but also very intelligent, which you might not be able to guess from just looking at him. Where he really shines personality-wise however is in the official Metroid Manga. He's portrayed as extremely cunning, while still being just as savage as you'd expect.
So yeah, that's my list. Pretty dank, right?
